About

Hello all you lovely people!

My name is Vicky, I am a freelance illustrator based in Lincolnshire, and I loves me some doodling.

Inspired by the greats of Raymond Briggs and his beautiful pencil work, Shirley Hughes’ ability to capture the wonders of real life and childhood, and pretty much 70% of all movies (big film fan if you couldn’t guess), my work centres around the themes of nature, pop culture and the joys of being a kid in a pretty grey world.

I have drawn since I could pick up a pencil. When I actually drew more than scary human blobs I become obsessed with drawing Spirit of the film ‘Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron’ and my love of drawing both animals and people grew. Traditionally trained I almost went down the route of oil painting and realism, but in the end decided on a degree in Illustration at the University of Lincoln.

A handful of years (which we will not count) since graduating and I have put everything into trying to make illustration my career; designing cards, drawing illustrations for picture books, making prints and designing custom work. I love it!! And I hope that the work I make might just bring a smidgen of happiness into your lives, because that the best payment I can ask for.

Thankyou so much for visiting my website. Feel free to drop me a message if you are interest in something in particular, or follow me over on Instagram or Facebook where I tend to waffle even more.
